WSDG, a consultancy specialising in integrating acoustics and AV technology into complex venues, is set to take part in a webinar hosted by Danish Sound Cluster, Denmark’s national audio industry organisation, on acoustics in arenas. d&b audiotechnik and C.F. Møller Architects will also contribute to the discussion.
The session, entitled Acoustic Design for Multi-Purpose Sports Arenas, will explore how acoustic strategy and electro-acoustic systems can be incorporated into venue design to support sport, concerts and other large-scale live events. WSDG will be represented by Dirk Noy, senior partner and co-CEO, while Dominika Obwarzanek, senior application engineer at d&b audiotechnik, and Klaus Toustrup, partner and owner at C.F. Møller Architects, will also present.
Noy will cover the acoustic consultant’s perspective, addressing speech intelligibility, balancing the differing requirements of sport and live performance, and the challenges of designing large, complex venues. The session will also examine how architectural form affects acoustic performance and why early-stage integration of both acoustic and electro-acoustic systems is critical to venue flexibility.
Dirk Noy, senior partner and co-CEO at WSDG, said: “With sports arenas increasingly expected to serve as flexible, multi-use destinations, it is more important than ever that acoustics are considered from the outset. When sound is integrated early in the design process, venues can deliver clarity, impact and a far better experience for audiences, performers and operators alike.”
Jeppe Lindegaard, head of branding, strategy and events at Danish Sound Cluster, added: “This webinar is a strong example of that mission in action, bringing together architects, consultants and technology specialists to highlight why acoustics must be part of the conversation from the very beginning when designing modern arenas.”
The event will take place online on April 28 from 2pm-3.15pm CET and is free to attend. Click here for more information.
