Listen Technologies to bring Auri assistive listening to audiologist event

Co-developed by Listen Technologies and Ampetronic, partners under the Allvida umbrella, system will be deployed at AuDacity 2025, annual conference of Academy of Doctors of Audiology, in Washington, US

Listen Technologies and Ampetronic, sister companies operating under the Allvida group, are jointly showcasing their assistive listening system, Auri, at AuDacity 2025, the annual conference of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. The event will take place in Washington, D.C., from September 25-28. The companies will deploy the wireless audio technology in conference meeting spaces, allowing attendees to stream presenter audio directly to their own compatible devices.

Auri uses Auracast, a new Bluetooth broadcast audio capability that transmits audio from one source to multiple receivers, including hearing aids, earbuds, smartphones, and other Auracast-enabled devices. Unlike traditional Bluetooth connections, which pair one-to-one, Auracast allows for one-to-many broadcasting, supporting broader accessibility in public venues.

Listen Technologies and Ampetronic will also provide a limited number of Auri receivers for attendees without compatible devices and will host live demonstrations and Q&A sessions throughout the event.

Kasey Kaumans, market development manager at Listen Technologies | Ampetronic, said: “Listen Technologies is honoured to support AuDacity 2025 and showcase Auri to hearing advocates in a real-use scenario. We invite and welcome feedback on Auri from audiologists, hearing care professionals, and industry leaders at the conference, and we hope to empower them with information about Auracast and assistive listening that they can share with patients.”

The Auri system is also designed to filter background noise and provide low-latency, high-quality audio to users, helping improve clarity in live sessions. Beyond assistive listening, the platform can be used for multi-channel applications such as interpretation and audio description.

Attendees will be able to access the audio using static PIN codes displayed in each room, a method Listen Technologies says helps avoid drawing attention to those using assistive features. For venue managers, Auri offers remote configuration and monitoring tools, making it easier to deploy at scale.

Kaumans added: “As AuDacity 2025 speaker and hearing and accessibility advocate Andrew Bellavia will demonstrate in his presentation, ‘Why Auracast Now, and How to Advocate for it in Your Communities’, Auracast brings value to both venues and end users in many different environments.”
