The d&b audiotechnik’s CL‑Series Compact Cardioid Line Array (CCL) system has made its regional debut in South Africa through an event hosted by distributor Stage Audio Works (SAW). Held at the Vodacom Dome in Midrand, near Johannesburg, the launch invited rental and staging companies, live production professionals and house‑of‑worship technicians to explore the CCL system’s design.
The series is designed to deliver even coverage, advanced cardioid behaviour and robust low‑frequency control within a compact footprint – attributes the company says make it suitable for touring, houses of worship and live event venues.
Presenters at the event included Steve Jones, team leader for d&b audiotechnik education and application support for EMEA, and Dane Miller, regional sales manager for d&b audiotechnik. Their session covered theoretical and practical elements of the CL‑Series, with listening demonstrations both in front of and behind the array to illustrate cardioid performance and system versatility in full‑system hangs and single‑hang configurations.
Gary Furman, sales professional at Stage Audio Works, said: “We are committed to strengthening local competencies with demonstrations such as these, that are free to attend and genuinely insightful. In turn, we are actively introducing new audiences and potential customers to the latest in professional audio technology, whilst ensuring they have the correct and most up‑to‑date knowledge to be confident in using these systems.”
He added: “We are very grateful to d&b for coming out to South Africa to support us with this endeavour, and most importantly, we are grateful to our valued clients for spending this time with us to explore these technologies. We’re looking forward to supporting new owners of CCL systems in South Africa.”
