Invisible loudspeaker manufacturer Amina has recently begun giving a one-day training course to support its installation partners. The company reports that the response to ‘Selling, specifying and installing Amina invisible loudspeakers’ has been excellent, the most frequent comment – even from those with Amina installation experience – being how much more there is to know about specifying and installing Amina product than first realised. The aim of the training is to help installers sell, specify and install Amina’s invisible sound solutions with confidence, whether they have previously worked with using distributed mode loudspeaker (DML) technology or not. It is based on 10 years’ experience built up by Amina Technologies since it created the first plaster-over loudspeaker. Aimed at both custom residential and commercial audio installations, the course includes detailed sections on specifying and installing invisible loudspeaker solutions, together with hints and tips to ensure the best possible result. A comprehensive demonstration of Amina Evolution Series products is provided, and options on installation locations and benefits are discussed. The training commences with an explanation of how DML differ from conventional speaker technology. Training is provided on the two-panel AIW750, which needs even more care from an installation point of view. In recognition of the difficulty of selling something invisible, a range of case studies is provided that can be shared with end customers, along with and pointers on selling and marketing as well as working with key influencers such as architects and interior designers. Amina reports that there have been many instances where installers who attended the training promptly booked additional team members on subsequent sessions.
