Praevar is expanding its Podium series of outdoor digital signage with the introduction of the Podium 75in high-brightness, low-power LCM (liquid crystal module, also known as LCD module) display. This new offer has been engineered to deliver 4K resolution and 4,000 nits of brightness while consuming just 200W of energy – which the company says is 35 percent less than traditional high-brightness displays currently on the market.
The Podium 75in also features dynamic dimming technology (often referred to as local dimming, described as zoned backlight control), which is designed to optimise brightness levels based on ambient light conditions, further enhancing energy efficiency and image quality.
Ralph Idems, CEO of Praevar Corporation, said: “At Praevar, we’ve built a strong reputation for designing high-performance, reliable, and energy-efficient digital signage displays. Our customers are increasingly challenged by the rising costs of energy, the difficulty of providing power to remote locations, and the growing demand for environmentally friendly solutions.”
He added: “That’s why we focused on developing a display that delivers brilliant 4K resolution with 4,000 nits brightness, while consuming 35 percent less power than traditional models. With over two decades of experience in the digital signage industry, we identified a clear market need for an outdoor display that doesn’t compromise on performance or sustainability. The Podium 75in was engineered to address these needs, offering businesses an eco-friendlier option without sacrificing quality or durability.”
Other key features include: ‘high temperature optical stack’, which is designed to prevent sagging and yellowing from extreme heat, ensuring long-term image quality; advanced sensors for temperature and ambient light with auto-dimming features, plus options for particle and humidity sensors.
