Crest Audio adds PoE++ loudspeakers to portfolio

CiP 26 and CiP 5 use PoE++ – the highest power tier of Power over Ethernet, delivering up to 90W – to carry Dante and AES67 audio alongside power over a single Ethernet cable

Crest Audio has introduced two new loudspeakers powered by PoE++ – the highest tier of Power over Ethernet at up to 90W – designed for networked commercial AV environments. The CiP 26 and CiP 5 form the latest additions to the company’s CiP Series.

Crest Audio’s CIP 26 range

Both models use the IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 standard to deliver audio, control and power over a single Ethernet cable, removing the need for local mains power or separate amplifier racks. Both support Dante and AES67 audio networking, with optional 24VDC external power available where required.

The CiP 26 is a two-way loudspeaker featuring dual 6.5in woofers and a 1in tweeter in a bi-amplified configuration, with a peak SPL of 103dB at one metre and a frequency response of 65Hz to 20kHz. Its 120° x 75° coverage pattern is designed to suit both foreground music in hospitality environments and speech reinforcement in larger collaboration spaces.

The CiP 5 features a 5.25in woofer and 0.75in tweeter, also in a bi-amplified configuration, with a peak SPL of 101dB and a tighter 90° x 60° dispersion pattern. It is aimed at boardrooms, classrooms, meeting rooms and distributed background music systems.

Christoph Sesseck, sales manager EMEA for Peavey Commercial Audio, said: “Integrators want solutions that reduce infrastructure complexity while maintaining professional performance standards. With these latest additions to our CiP speaker line, we are giving our partners scalable loudspeaker options that combine the latest networking protocols integration, PoE++ simplicity and the sonic character that Crest Audio is known for.”
