ADI launches four-zone streaming preamp

EA-STREAM-PRE-4 streaming product, released under ADI's Episode brand, offers four independent audio zones, with Control4, MoIP, OvrC and AirPlay 2 compatibility

ADI has launched the Episode 4-Zone Streaming Preamp (EA-STREAM-PRE-4), a multi-zone audio solution designed for professional installation either as a standalone streamer or within a Control4 system.

The unit is Episode’s first product to run the Ryff streaming platform natively. Ryff is a professional audio streaming and distribution platform used in installed AV systems to manage and deliver high-resolution audio across multiple zones over a network.

The system supports 192kHz high-resolution audio from a 1U rack-mountable chassis. Four independent audio zones can be driven simultaneously, with multiple units combinable to scale up multi-room audio systems for larger residential or commercial projects. The preamp requires an external amplifier and is designed to pair with Episode amplification products including the Dynamic Amplifier, Response Series DSP Amplifier and MoIP Amplifier.

Interoperability is a central feature of the design. The unit works with the Ryff app on iOS and Android without brand-specific authorisation, supports Ryff audio distribution to MoIP endpoints, and is compatible with other Ryff-enabled devices including the Triad SA1. For Control4 Certified Dealers, it integrates directly into the Control4 listening interface. Remote monitoring and management are handled through OvrC.

Mike Burratto, senior director of product management at ADI, said: “The Episode Ryff-enabled 4-zone preamp makes professional installed multi-zone streaming audio more accessible, scalable, and cost-effective. It introduces more customers to the Ryff platform while giving integrators a flexible solution that works equally well as a standalone audio system or within a larger Control4 installation.”
