Shure Incorporated has confirmed that its MD for UK Distribution Peter James has been promoted to take over the role as VP of global sales, pro audio.
James, who is based at Shure’s UK head office Waltham Abbey (just outside of London) has been with the company for more than 20 years (starting in 2004, business development manager), and has headed up distribution in the UK since 2009.
In addition, Abby Kaplan has been named VP of global sales, Retail. Abby has been with Shure since 1998 in various sales positions. Before Shure, she worked for two pro audio companies and has a long history of success with big box and independent brick-and-mortar resellers as well as e-commerce customers. Abby is based in Shure’s Chicago City Centre office.
José Rivas has been named VP of global sales, Emerging Markets. José will lead the sales organisation focused on several developing markets worldwide. After serving as sales and marketing director for the International Americas Business Unit and Sales Director of the Americas Business Unit, José has led the Latin America go-to-market organisation.
During this time, he supported a cross-functional team that expanded the Company’s footprint with new regional offices in Miami and São Paulo. José is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Finally, Jim Schanz has been named Vice President of Global Sales, Integrated Systems. Jim joined Shure in 1998 and has effectively served in a number of sales roles. In 2011, Jim took over leadership of Shure’s Market Development function. His efforts and initiatives have led to a considerable increase in sales since 2013. Jim is based in Shure’s Chicago City Center office.
