Sharp Europe has announced the newly created position of commercial director for its Visual Solutions business with Birgit Jackson (formerly Birgit Sommerer) appointed to the role.
Jackson will define Sharp’s product line-up and portfolio strategy for the European sales regions, and drive Sharp’s marketing and communication strategy with one of her first projects including the new campaigns for the BIG PAD interactive displays.
Jackson joins Sharp following almost nine years at NEC, where she rose to head of the product management team, and brings over 20 years of experience in EMEA and global product management.

Sharp Visual Solutions is benefitting from investment in Sharp Corporation by Foxconn, which led to Sharp Corporation achieving an operating profit in 2016 for the first time in three years.
