Latest industry appointments – August 2017

Here's a round-up of new staff appointments at Autograph, KV2 Audio, Origin Acoustics, Core Brands, Leyard and Planar, and more.

Here’s a round-up of some of the people whose new roles in the industry have been announced recently.

Theatrical audio specialist Autograph Sound Recording has appointed Scott Arnold as managing director. He will also assume a directorship of Autograph Sales & Installations.

Arnold joined the main board of Autograph Sound in June 2013 as hire director, having joined the company’s service department in 1997 and subsequently being appointed to head the hire division in 2002.

Terry Jardine, who has been MD since 2000, assumes the role of group chairman. A noted theatrical sound designer in his own right, he is taking on an additional role that allows him to refocus his passion on that discipline and to lead Autograph’s internal team of sound designers.

Sound engineer Angus Davidson is joining the international team at KV2 Audio in the post of technical support director for Asia Pacific and North America. A native of Australia, Davidson has had a long and diverse career within the audio industry, including mixing for major acts including Supertramp and Crowded House.

He commented: “KV2 Audio’s unique technologies bring a whole new paradigm to sound reinforcement and represent some of the most intelligent and innovative audio design I have seen.” He will be based in Melbourne.

Architectural audio specialist Origin Acoustics has appointed Jose Coelho as director of sales European Union. He was most recently managing sales for QMotion UK throughout Europe.

“Jose’s field experience brings an amazing understanding of integrators wants and needs,” said Jeremy Burkhardt, Origin’s CEO. “His extensive design experience will be a tremendous asset in helping Origin Acoustics’ partners in the EU position and grow their businesses.”

In other manufacturer news, Charlotte Harris has been appointed senior manager of technical services at Core Brands. “Charlotte is charged with taking a great team to the next level,” said Joe Lautner, Core Brands director of business development. “She has the experience required to scale up the team to meet the demands of growth, and she is already having an immensely positive impact on the support we offer our dealers.”

Harris has 20 years of experience in high-tech companies, including 15 years leading technical support teams.

We move now to the world of video. Visualisation products manufacturer Leyard and Planar has announced two new hires to the EMEA sales team. Tony Patterson (pictured) has will be the new field sales manager and Hans Van Houdt will be the business development director EMEA and broadcast sales manager.

Formerly with Midwich, Patterson will manage Leyard and Planar’s sales efforts in the UK and Ireland. He comes to the company with more than 20 years of experience in the AV industry.

Van Houdt, who has more than 15 years of experience, will focus on development and sales in broadcast for the UK and Germany.

Finally, some moves that we reported previously:

Unified communications provider BlueJeans has announced that Quentin Gallivan has joined the company as CEO, while BlueJeans founder, Krish Ramakrishnan, will become executive chairman and lead strategy and innovation.

Sharp Europe has appointed Birgit Jackson to the newly created position of commercial director for its Visual Solutions business.

UK integrator Reflex has re-hired Andy Read in the role of sales and marketing director.
