Kinly staff complete Three Peaks Challenge for Help for Heroes

Employees raise over £28,000 as part of its commitment to ex veterans

Thirty-eight Kinly employees took part in the National Three Peaks Challenge in July with the objective of raising £30,000 for Help for Heroes (they’re currently £2,000 shy of the total). The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales – often within 24 hours – testing both physical and mental strength.

The Kinly team walked 23 miles (37km) up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, a total ascent of 3064 metres (10,052ft), plus 462 miles in travel – completing the challenge in less than 27 hours. The main objective of the event was to raise £30,000 for chosen charity Help for Heroes, and the team has just under £2,000 to go to reach their target.

Help for Heroes was a natural choice for the team, with Kinly’s ex-military recruitment scheme Veterans Programme providing ex armed forces personnel the opportunity to build their product, technical and industry knowledge to set them up for a successful career in the AV/IT industry. The programme has onboarded a total of 8 veterans over the past couple of years, with plans to continue expanding.

“We want to say a huge thank you to Kinly for taking on such an incredible fundraising challenge,” said Anna Watton, head of partnerships at Help for Heroes. “With the majority of our income coming from the great public, it is fantastic people like ‘Team Kinly’ that are the lifeblood of the charity. From amazing challenges like the Three Peaks Challenge through to bake sales, every single one of these fundraising events make a difference to our wounded veterans and their families. We are really hoping this is just the beginning of a very special partnership that started with Kinly’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and their active recruitment of Veterans.”

Ed Foxwell, operations director, Kinly UK added: “It’s been a phenomenal experience for everyone who took place and I couldn’t be prouder that, together as a team, we’ve raised over £28k. We are extremely grateful that so many people have supported us, but would like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors Crestron, Logitech, Midwich, Pexip and Tech Data.”
