This summer, Dan Page is cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
“About 1,000 miles,” says the brand manager for networked audio developer DiGiGrid, “and I’m doing it all on my own in less than 10 days.”
With a team, right?
“No support vehicle, no team… just me.”

“It’s all to raise money for two amazing cancer charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie.”
…Last year, Andy Page was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage Four lung cancer. “As a relatively fit and healthy non-smoker, he fought hard for 15 months before losing his battle with this terrible disease,” says brother Dan.
Andy was a month away from his 48th birthday when he died. “It’s now my turn to help others in similar situations: to put myself – and my backside! – out of my comfort zone and raise as much money as I can to help others who need end of life care.”
Dan begins his ride on 29 July. At the time of writing, he has raised 40% of his £10k target, but still has a long way to go. (Did we mention 1,000 miles of cycling?) In an appeal to the wider pro-audio industry, he says: “What I really want now is support donations to either of my chosen charities…”
Dan is also looking for help with costs, and sponsors whose logo could end up on his jersey, shorts, bike, helmet, or, er, “my arse”.
“All and any suggestions considered in return for suitable donations to the cause.”
Given that photos of Dan cycling are likely to be taken from behind, who wouldn’t want to bid for space on his backside?
