AVL Media Group, a North American distributor of audio, video and lighting, has announced the appointment of James Ure as vice president of US sales and marketing. In this role, he will lead the company’s strategic initiatives to strengthen support and expand reach across the commercial, professional, and retail audio markets in the US.
James Ure has more than three decades experience in the audio and video industry, starting his career in 1989 after completing his recording engineering training. His experience includes roles such as concert sound engineer at SoundWorks in Virginia, co-owner and recording engineer at Media Kitchen Studios in California, and sound system designer for houses of worship with Point Source Audio.
His background also features significant positions at Harman, working with DBX and BSS brands, and at Bosch, managing brands like Electro-Voice and Dynacord. His most recent appointment was as key account manager for distribution within the Bosch Group.
He said: “I’m excited with this new challenge and opportunity. My experience with and love for many of these iconic brands goes back to the early 1990s and I am thrilled to be representing best in class products from Lab Gruppen, Midas, Tannoy, and Turbosound as well as relative newcomers like Aston and Zero-0hm.”
