Adder Technology appoints new chief executive

Neil Hillier takes over from Adrian Dickens following a leadership transition that also sees new appointments across finance, sales and marketing at the Cambridge-based IP KVM specialist

Adder Technology has appointed Neil Hillier as its new CEO, effective July 1, as part of a planned leadership transition and strengthened executive structure aimed at supporting the company’s continued growth and global expansion.

Hillier succeeds Adrian Dickens, who becomes founder & executive chair after 42 years leading the business, while Nigel Dickens moves to the role of emeritus CTO. The appointment aligns with the long-term stewardship principles set out under Adder’s Employee Ownership Trust, through which the company is majority-owned by its employees.

Adder said the move comes as organisations increasingly require secure connectivity and control of mission-critical systems, with demand for high-performance IP KVM technology continuing to grow across distributed operations, cybersecurity and complex workflows.

Neil Hillier, CEO at Adder, said: “I am honoured to take on the role of CEO, and I recognise my responsibility is to build on the foundations established by Adrian and Nigel. Adder’s commitment to being at the forefront of technology innovation remains unchanged, with continued investment in engineering excellence and product development central to the company’s long-term strategy.”

Hillier joined Adder in 2016 and has since helped drive more than 70 percent revenue growth, having spent over two decades in the KVM industry across engineering, technology, operations and commercial management roles.

Adrian Dickens, founder & executive chair, added: “Neil has played a significant role in Adder’s growth and success, and I have complete confidence in his ability to lead the business into its next chapter. Adder enters this transition from a position of strength, supported by exceptional people, loyal customers and a culture of innovation developed over more than four decades.”

Alongside Hillier’s appointment, Adder has strengthened its wider leadership team. Paul Allen has been appointed chief financial officer, reflecting a broader financial remit across the group. Jamie Adkin, who has spent 18 years at the company, has been promoted to vp of global sales, while Duncan Miller has been promoted to vp global marketing and customer experience, bringing together marketing, customer experience and professional services under one remit.

“As we look ahead, our focus remains on helping customers operate more effectively in some of the world’s most demanding environments,” added Hillier. “We have an outstanding team, a strong culture and significant opportunities ahead.”
