ADI celebrate 2018 European Championship success after delivering 900m2 of LED’s

Sports venue LED specialist helped keep the 250,000 spectators entertained across 12 separate venues in Glasgow

Sports venue LED screen specialist ADI has revealed it supplied more than 900m2 of LED displays across 12 different venues for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, which concluded yesterday evening (August 12).

An official provider of large video displays for the event, which attracted more than 250,000 spectators, display sizes ranged from 12m to 120m. These were a combination of ADI’s mobile and modular LED screens and plasma displays to suit the specific indoor and outdoor locations.

ADI screens feature at some of the largest sports events and venues across Europe, including Formula E, Silverstone, Jockey Club Racecourses and the London Marathon to name a few.

Nick Robinson, ADI’s director of screen rental commented: “Nine months of planning have come to fruition with diverse, tailored solutions across a variety of sports and cultural venues. We’ve been able to add value through centralised project management of the screens and HD video signal distribution across all 12 locations.”

Modular Solutions

A variety of custom modular projects have been designed and built by ADI for the games;

This included the SSE Hydro venue, which featured a gigantic 225m screen in 4.6mm outdoor product, delivering in excess of 10,000,000 pixels in a single display. This created a vast digital backdrop to the gymnastics, providing image magnification and supporting the broadcast of multiple live data feeds and timings.

Over at Toll Cross (main picture) International Swimming Centre – which has a capacity of 5,000 spectators – over 145m of high resolution screens are located around the venue, complimented by a 46 metre stretch of digiBOARD signage along the full length of the poolside to bring incredible exposure for brand partners.

Glasgow Green, which hosts the cycling road race championships and Go Live @ The Green features an iCONIC 25 – the biggest LED screen on a non-HGV chassis – and the iCONIC 60S, which not only features a large 60m display but has the added bonus of a 25m stage that unfolds from the trailer.
