Zigen introduces new HDBaseT line-up

Zigen is launching a comprehensive line of HDBaseT connectivity products at ISE 2015, headed up by a 4K presentation switch with scaler and an HDMI extender.

Zigen is launching a comprehensive line of HDBaseT connectivity products at ISE 2015, headed up by a 4K presentation switch with scaler and an HDMI extender over a single UTP/STP (HDBaseT) set.

The ZIG-POE-70 HDMI Extender can increase the range of HDMI to up to 70m over a single Cat5e cable. HDCP compliant, it supports resolutions up to UHD. Zigen claims the sender provides a complete solution for detection and powering of POE IEEE 802.3af devices, such as the ZIG-POE receiver/TV box.

The sender will safely detect, classify, and provide up to 13W of power to the receiver via a HDBaseT connection. The receiver reads a signature from the sender and only enables power delivery if all constraints for safe power delivery are met. The link is continuously monitored for any fault or overloading conditions and the current is limited to avoid hazardous conditions.

The ZIG-POE-70 sender senses the removal of a powered device and turns the 48V power supply off immediately when the receiver is disconnected.

Also new is the ZIG-PS612-4K Presentation Switch featuring WebOS, which drives all Zigen POE receivers and transmitters, as well as HDBaseT, HDMI, and analogue inputs, HDBaseT and HDMI outputs, microphones, and audio embedding and de-embedding.

It has a built-in 4K scaler/image processor and supports digital video formats ranging from 480i to 4K, as well as uncompressed PCM audio up to DTS HD-Master Audio and more.

The switch can be used in conjunction with the new ZIG-100-POE-WP-RX – HDBaseT RX wall plate, which Zigen said was perfect for hidden mounting behind a TV.

This receives power from POE devices such as the ZIG-PS612-4K or other upstream POE device, or optionally via direct connection. WebOS Control/accessible, it supports HDMI up to 1.4 with 48-bit deep colour, and offers the same video and audio format support as the switcher.
