Wyrestorm’s Enado offers cross-platform control

The new Enado AV system controller and user interface from WyreStorm is claimed to provide integrators with “a more affordable, integrator and user-friendly solution for end-to-end control and support of HD AV distribution systems and its electronics.”

It is WyreStorm’s first AV control system and has a browser-based user interface that can use any internet-enabled device as a controller. When paired with the Enado Controller, it should provide an affordable, out-of-the-box control system for AV distribution system applications. To the end-user, Enado acts as a traditional app, easily accessible via any iPad, Android device or smartphone. But behind the interface is a robust software/hardware product designed to be installed without programming experience.

The 1RU Controller offers 16 assignable IR ports, eight Integrated IP ports and an array of contact closures with built-in secure WiFi for connection to any local internet-enabled devices. Enado can equally sit on a traditionally secured LAN and be used to control devices in large buildings or anywhere in the world.

A built-in device editor and IR learner means new devices can easily be created. A series of RS232 and IP drivers for a variety of popular devices will be integrated and available prior to the product’s March ship date. Enado can automatically identify and deliver the correct visual format for any connected device regardless of operating system, device type or screen orientation. This allows even smartphones to be scaled within the compact screen sizes, yet still provide full control functionality with buttons elegantly overlaying live video generated from WyreStorm’s HD to IP decoding technology.
