Revolabs is demonstrating Yamaha’s YVC-1000 unified communications microphone and speaker system, which marks the first collaborative effort between the companies since Yamaha’s acquisition of Revolabs in early 2014.
It features Yamaha’s latest microphone and speaker technology, including Human Voice Activity Detection, and is claimed to provide a seamless extension to any VTC or audio conferencing system. It should be suitable for medium to large conference rooms (each microphone has a maximum recommended range of 5m), and allow users to connect to virtual calls via Bluetooth (settable via NFC) or USB, enabling instant participation from personal devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers.
The YVC-1000 is equipped with audio in/out connections to support external speakers, and also provides daisy-chain connectivity for up to five microphones, for comprehensive AV coverage of larger rooms. To simplify multi-use settings, the unit equalises audio at the touch of a button using Yamaha’s automatic audio tuning, which automatically measures the acoustic characteristics of the space and the placement of microphones and speakers, and then applies advanced signal processing, such as acoustic echo cancelling, noise reduction, tracking, gain control and de-reverberation.
