Opening a new door for professional AV design, says Lightware, is the company’s UMX-TPS transmitter family with the recently released Event Manager tool, implemented in the Lightware Device Controller software.
The Event Manager was developed to handle tasks from the most simple, such as displaying internal events on GPIO ports and controlling the extender by GPIO inputs instead of front panel pushbuttons, to more advanced tasks such as controlling the projection screen, air conditioning system or lights if any conditions change on the media ports, if a source is connected or removed, for example.
Event Manager is said to make the UMX-TPS extender family an expert solution in a wider range of applications.
Lightware’s new UMX-TPS product family includes HDBaseT extenders, wall and floor plates. These devices transmit multiple video formats at a resolution up to 4K, plus audio and control, up to a 170m distance over a single Cat cable. Designed for ever-changing environments such as small board rooms and classrooms, the wide range of features and supported formats is said to ensure flexibility, enabling seamless use in many applications.
It supports digital and analogue video and audio including VGA, YPbPr, HDMI 1.4 and DP 1.1 with analogue stereo or embedded 7.1 HBR audio. All UMX-TPS products are HDCP-compliant and provide factory, custom and transparent EDID emulation. Advanced EDID Management forces the required resolution from any video source and fixes the output format to conform to the system requirements.
The unit offers bidirectional and transparent IR, RS-232 and Ethernet transmission with the benefit of command injection, allowing it to send any IR or RS-232 control command directly from the LAN connection. Remote and local powering is also available and all devices are rack-mountable.
