UHD-EX family set to extend 4K/UHD over HDMI

The UHD-EX Series of extenders from Atlona consists of four pairs of transmitters and receivers, all employing HDBaseT technology, with a range of models that offer increasing levels of features over a single category cable.

All extender kits in the new series support 4K/UHD video at 60Hz, provide pass-through of HDCP 2.2 content, support EDID communication, and employ HDBaseT technology for extending signals, including multichannel audio in formats up to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Heading up the series is the AT-UHD-EX-100CE Transmitter/Receiver kit, which allows cable runs up to 100m, utilises IEEE 802.3af standard 48V PoE for receiver power, and provides pass-through of bidirectional Ethernet and control signals.

The AT-UHD-EX-70C kit provides 70m of signal extension, including pass-through of bidirectional RS-232 and 12V IR control signals. As a transmitter/receiver pair, the kit is designed for use with other Atlona matrix switchers.

Atlona offers the AT-UHD-EX-70 kit for residential or commercial point-to-point applications. This kit features PoE to remotely power the receiver from the transmitter to save time and integration costs by eliminating the AC power outlet at the receiver.

Atlona said the AT-UHD-EX70-PS kit provided an economical means of transmitting AV signals up to 70m, while still offering the video features of the UHD-EX series. Each transmitter and receiver in this kit comes with its own power adapter .
