Aurora: Touchpanel is platform-agnostic

Described as a fully autonomous HD platform-agnostic touchpanel, the QXT-700 HD is being introduced by Aurora Multimedia. With an integrated control system, a 1280 x 800 resolution HD screen and a 2D/3D graphic accelerator, it is claimed to deliver stunning graphics and naturally responsive GUI performance.

Backed by a quad-core processor with a PoE enabled 1Gbps LAN port, multiple on-board RS-232/IR/relays and DIO, the QXT-700 is said to be able to handle any conference room, classroom or hospitality AV control application. The MPEG2/H.264 high-definition decoder allows for clean video streaming without affecting the performance of the main processor.

To satisfy today’s use of personal smartphones and tablets, Aurora believes that the QXT-700 is the industry’s first platform-agnostic touchpanel/control system with built-in web server for iPad/Android/MS tablet use with no apps required. The QXT-700 mounts on to any surface with a standard two-gang low-voltage box.

An Android version is also in the works, the company says, which would allow users to incorporate Android-based apps for other AV manufacturers and run them seamlessly within the Aurora QXT-700, getting the best of both worlds with streamlined programming.

Also on show is the new V-Tune Pro 4K tuner which is designed to deliver a total true 4K2K high-definition worldwide tuning solution for any integrated system that requires IPTV, ATSC, QAM, DVB, NTSC and PAL. The tuner is capable of decoding MPEG2, MPEG4, VC-1, H.264, and H.265 with resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 @ 60Hz via RF and LAN. There is also an onboard 4K scaler for viewing 1080p HD content on 4K displays.

The V-Tune Pro 4K is said to be integrator-friendly with IR, RS-232 and IP-based control.
