The intersection of music and technology

At the Fireside Chat at AVIXA Xchange Live (booth 3Q400) on today at 12:00, Team Sónar will share how they use technology to reimagine the festival experience.

Known as the parent company of Sónar Festival, among other events, Advanced Music S.L. creates prestigious celebrations across various genres of music and its related industries with creative technologies, visual arts, and entertainment.

Advanced Music S.L. is a leading cultural promoter and events company headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. At the core of their portfolio sits Sónar Festival, a three-day event that takes place annually in Barcelona, started by Ricard Robles, Enric Palau, and Sergi Caballero in 1994. Since then, Sónar has brought together 125,000+ festivalgoers with a deep appreciation for music, arts, technology, and culture in their hearts, stretching over two venues and nine stages every summer. In 2023, you can expect to see names like Bicep, one of the most acclaimed electronic live acts to emerge from the UK in the past decade; Max Cooper, London-based electronica and techno producer; and Japanese visual and sound artist Ryoji Ikeda.

Sónar 2023 will celebrate 30 years in the making with their upcoming festival on June 15-17, 2023.

As a pioneering European festival focusing on electronic music, Sónar transforms Barcelona into a focal point for dance music fans, artists, and industry from around the globe. The festival has even expanded internationally, with events held in 65 cities around the world to date.

Famed for exploring possibilities at the intersection of music and technology, Sónar continues redefining what a festival experience can be, removing barriers and forging connections between different audiences and creative disciplines. This spectacular celebration focuses on cultural experience, cutting-edge arts, and technological innovation. Over the years, they’ve acquired plenty of knowledge on how technology continues to reimagine festival experiences.

Three leaders of Sónar’s parent company, Advanced Music, S.L., will be talking at AVIXA Xchange Live, booth 3Q400, about how the intersection of music and technology continues to redefine music festival experiences in new imaginative ways. Sanj Surati, digital atelier of Tiger Heart, will lead the discussion. He will speak with CEO Ventura Barba, Antonia Folguera, Sónar +D curator, and Andrea Faroppa Cabrera, director of strategic projects for institutional partnerships and Sónar +D. The discussion will detail how technology has impacted and will continue to impact the festival experience – from the audience to the artists.
