The Esports Arena, located in Hall 8.1 and produced in collaboration with LVP (GRUP MEDIAPRO), had a jam-packed first day and has plans to keep the momentum going throughout the show.

The Arena programme was presented by esports host, scriptwriter and content manager Lara Smirnova, who guided the audience through a packed agenda that included an AV systems showcase from LVP’s technology partner SONO, arena tours with LVP (taking place from 12:45 every day), and a fascinating panel discussion with MEDIAPRO, LVP, SVG Europe and Grass Valley that covered the relationship between esports and traditional sports broadcast production, and the technologies and practices that are enabling both areas.

The main attraction was the esports tournament itself, with professional players going head-to-head on EA Sports FC 25. The two tournament semi-finals took place either side of a 2v2 exhibition team match, with the grand final seeing cone1996fc take home the winner’s trophy and a cash prize.

There is plenty more on tap at the Esports Arena throughout the week, with today’s competition centred around MotoGP with five qualifying and race sessions throughout the day. After the tournament, starting at around 17:00, attendees get a chance to get into the action and take to the virtual track against each other.

There are also two can’t-miss panel sessions taking place today — both MotoGP-related. The first, “Inside MotoGP: How Dorna is Pushing the Boundaries of the Sport’s Broadcast Production”, takes place at 13:30 and sees speakers from MotoGP rights holder Dorna and technical partners Sony, Audio-Technica, Evertz, and Clear-Com cover the finer details of the broadcast production of MotoGP race weekends, and the technologies enabling new capabilities for the sport. The second session, “Inside MotoGP: How Dorna is Revolutionising its Broadcast Production for MotoGP and MotoGP Esports Events”, takes place at 15:15 with LVP and Dorna providing insights into the workflow behind MotoGP esports productions, and the differences between esports and traditional MotoGP broadcast productions.

The action continues at Hall 8.1 (Stand 8B100) every day of the show, with audience events taking place from 17:00 today and tomorrow, and from 13:00 on Friday — don’t miss out!
