Crest Audio and Waves combine on Tactus system

The Tactus Digital Mixing System provides a simple, customisable touchscreen operating interface that puts all audio routing, processing and mixing tools within easy and immediate reach. It has been designed by Crest Audio in partnership with Waves, and works with the new Waves eMotion Mixer for SoundGrid. The Tactus system also allows the use of Waves audio processing plug-ins for live events.

It includes: Tactus.FOH, the audio processing core; Tactus.Stage, a 32-in/16-out remote stage box with digitally controlled high-quality mic preamps; and Tactus.Control, a dedicated hardware control surface. The system interconnects via Gigabit Ethernet and an internal Gigabit switch, allowing multiple configurations in a range of channel counts.

The Tactus.FOH is powered by Waves’ SoundGrid audio processing/networking platform, for low latency and precision audio processing. When combined with the new Waves eMotion Mixer, the result is a very flexible mixing platform. The Tactus.FOH frame provides eight local microphone/line inputs and eight line outputs, and serves as the audio signal-processing engine.

Also new from Crest Audio are: the CLh 5000 (2,500W per channel) and CLh 2500 (1,250W per channel) Class D power amplifiers, using ultra-high efficiency amplifier output circuit that reduces weight while increasing output power, reliability and thermal efficiency; the CKd Series of four multichannel, networkable, intelligent power amplifiers; and the CPS Series of powered loudspeakers with internal DSP, with three compact full-range speakers and two subwoofers.
