Sports Venue Technology Summit takes place today

There is still time to register for the Sports Venue Technology Summit, which takes place in Room E102 of the RAI centre, Amsterdam, from 09:30 this morning.

The Summit, which is free to attend, will be chaired by leading audio installation consultant Roland Hemming. It will look at specific technologies that are changing the look and feel of sports venues worldwide. This will include digital signage and virtual reality where contributions from the likes of invidis consulting and Holovis promise an insightful experience for all attendees. Invidis consulting is organising the Digital Signage Summit ISE event while Holovis is producing and managing the ISE Immersive Technology Zone.

There will also be an exploration of the new generation of affordable broadcast platforms and solutions that are allowing an increasing number of venues to become content creators in their own right, and in the process, reaching more fans all around the world.

The keynote address will be delivered by invidis consulting managing director Florian Rotberg, who will discuss the opportunities presented by digital signage in sports arenas and stadia, and provide insight into the digital signage concepts of tomorrow.

Bob Kronman, director of Kronman Associates, will take part in the 12:20 discussion ‘Venue Aesthetics: The Shape of Things to Come’. Here, he will contemplate new ideas about stadium design, wayfinding technology and commercial messaging will impact on aesthetics and, perhaps more crucially, the visitor’s qualitative experience of event days.

Stuart Fisher, CTO at Derby County FC, will present a case study on player analytics, while there will also be a presentation on augmented reality technology in sports broadcast and in-venue advertising will be given by a representative of technology provider Supponor.
Philip Johnson, senior principal of architectural practice Populous, will talk about the changing nature of stadium design.

Further speakers at the Sports Venue Technology Summit include:

• Jean-Luc Affaticati, CEO, Digit Arena
• Dave Elliott, Holovis, business development manager, Enterprise
• Tim Felstead, head of product marketing, SAM

We plan to provide a packed programme, full of innovation and insight. We certainly have the set of speakers to deliver it.”

A networking session will take place at the end of the conference, where drinks will be served.
