Sounding good

Debuting on the Wharfedale Pro stand, the GPL series of loudspeakers, with compact cabinets and coaxial drive units engineered by Beyma, is designed with theatre, enterprise, bars, nightclubs and live music applications in mind. Comprising 12 new models, including bass-reflex and a band-pass subwoofer, the GPL series is aimed at fixed installation projects where audio quality matters.

A unique characteristic of the GPL series is that all full-range models feature an original design waveguide horn. This allows the high-frequency range to be addressed directly to the audience, reducing undesired reflections. The HQ models are equipped with a turntable constant directivity horn for even more accurate asymmetrical coverage.

Peter Peck, marketing manager, international professional audio division, Wharfedale Pro, said: In addition to the GPL series, we are also promoting active line arrays. Distributors have been waiting for it for a long time, so we’re really excited to demo it here. We also have on show a hyper-curvature array system, some new diamond studio monitors and the new IS-48 active entertainment system, which is a real party animal. This is perfect for use in pubs or more domestic arrangements and comes complete with dynamic LED lighting effects. In fact, we have around eight new products showcased on this stand that haven’t been seen in the market before this show.”
