SMPTE 2110 support comes wrapped in Phabrix

7thSense has partnered with test and measurement specialist Phabrix to develop next generation output format capability for themed entertainment and attractions installations. The two companies are working with network IP formats using SMPTE ST 2110, including UHD/4K 12-bit 4:4:4 60p.

7thSense specialises in advanced media serving, pixel management and show control technologies for theme parks and attractions, and currently has 56 media servers and 17 Medialon show control systems used by integrators as part of the Expo 2020 Dubai event.

Richard Brown, CTO, 7thSense (pictured), said: “This is really the future of connectivity, and we are now able to output formats that have not been used in the themed entertainment and visitor attractions world up until now, working closely with Phabrix to do so.

“We are now delivering SMPTE 2110 support from our Delta Media Server and Juggler pixel processing products, and we need to ensure all our solutions are compliant to specifications,” he added. “Having worked with the Phabrix team and their Qx products previously, we recognised their superb customer service and understanding of SMPTE 2110, as well as their willingness to work with us to support new industry leading standards such as 12-bit 4:4:4 60p.”
