Smallest 4K 50,000 lumen projector from Panasonic

The PT-RQ50K is said to be half the size and weight of competitor projectors

Said to be the world’s smallest 50,000 lumen laser projector with native 4K resolution, Panasonic will showcase the PT-RQ50K projector. Designed for the rental and staging market and theme parks, where fast setup and reliability are essential, the PT-RQ50K is a single body, 3-chip DLP laser projector. Panasonic claims that the PT-RQ50K is half the size and weight of competitor projectors.

Hartmut Kulessa, European marketing manager at Panasonic Business, said: “RQ50K is an all-in-one projector that allows our partners to create breathtaking experiences with ease and reassurance. It is the combination of our finest image quality and our long proven ‘half’ and ‘dual’ concept. Partners will be able to deliver the premium experience with half the effort and double the reliability.”

The new projector features separate blue and red phosphor laser technology, with Panasonic noting that the addition of red laser technology delivers an enhanced colour gamut, delivering an image closer to Rec. 2020 and the SMPTE 2120 colour specification.

The PT-RQ50K also comes with a number of features to further reduce set-up times. For the first time, Panasonic’s Geometry Manager Pro software is pre-installed on the device for geometric adjustment, edge blending, colour matching, brightness control and masking.
