SiliconCore to debut Magnolia LED display

The highest resolution display using Common Cathode technology yet developed will be launched at ISE 2014. SiliconCore Technology claims that the Magnolia is the most advanced and high quality resolution LED display on the market, with a 1.5mm pixel pitch and 2000nits brightness.
The Common Cathode mode means that the red, green and blue LEDS are addressed separately, so eliminating the need for a resistor and ensuring that power is not lost to heat. It also increases the lifespan of the display. According to SiliconCore, the technology makes LED perfect for close proximity applications for the first time.
Steve Scorse, vice-president for SiliconCore in EMEA, explained: “The 1.5mm LED display is suitable for shorter viewing distances, resulting in the resolution of a videowall, but with far superior image quality. The technology is modular, so it can be configured for any size or shape, without any seams, gaps or bezels.”
The company suggests that typical applications might include corporate lobbies and conference suites, high-end signage in retail environments, VIP areas in sporting arenas, and large format displays for command and control centres. The 1.5mm pixel pitch allows integrators to create a 1920 x 1080 Full HD screen at 130in, making it a replacement for rear projection solutions in boardrooms and smaller meeting rooms.
