PTZ camera supports H.264 codec

Equipped with a professional 1/2.8in image sensor with 1080p output resolution at 60 frames per second, the Lumens VC-A20P HD Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) camera features a 10x optical zoom lens and is claimed to offer excellent white balance. According to Lumens, its exposure mode enables it to deliver a clear image even in low light or where there is extreme contrast of brightness and darkness in a conference room.

The camera covers a wide shooting angle (pan angle from 170° to +170°; tilt angle from -30° to +90°) and achieve high-speed, quiet and precise positioning with smooth PTZ operations.

The VC-A20P – which is aimed at applications including lecture recording, videoconferencing and security surveillance systems – supports a range of interfaces including Ethernet, DVI-I, and C-Video. These connections not only allow for simultaneous image outputs, they also, says the company, result in the best possible image quality and provide compatibility with all video equipment.

Support for the H.264 video compression codec is provided, which Lumens points out can not only reduce the bandwidth for transmitting video but also decreases hard disk space when recording. In addition, the VC-A20P has the ability to distribute streaming media, supporting the ONVIF protocol.

Up to 128 preset settings are provided by the VC-A20P for pan, tilt, zoom, focus, exposure, and white balance modes for more effective and efficient video recording. The camera’s settings and PTZ control functions can
be performed remotely via the RS-232/422 interface.
