Procella Audio provides deeper bass for Atmos

The P8iW in-wall/in-ceiling speaker is being introduced at ISE by Procella Audio. Designed for use as a height or surround channel speaker, it uses an 8in woofer and 1.5in high-frequency compression driver mounted on a Procella-designed constant directivity waveguide for high output levels and even coverage of sound.

Anders Uggelberg, founding director of Procella, said: “The P8 has long been the reference Procella loudspeaker, dating back to the initial system created for the DTS headquarters in London. With the rapidly growing popularity of immersive audio and an increasing demand for high-performance speakers in high channel count systems, creating an in-wall and in-ceiling version of the P8 was a logical step. We expect that our best integrators and system designers will take advantage of the speaker’s ability to produce greater output and deeper bass extension than the smaller speakers so often used as height channels in Atmos systems.”

Procella’s wing-mounting system is said to make installation easy and efficient. Its input terminals are on the removable front baffle that contains the drivers and crossovers, providing easy access for service. It can be wall mounted either horizontally or vertically, and its 90° circular radiation pattern makes it appropriate for ceiling mounts.
