Pakedge launches own-brand fibre-optic cables

Pakedge is launching an own-name brand of fibre-optic cables for residential and commercial AV projects at ISE 2015.

Pakedge is launching an own-name brand of fibre-optic cables for residential and commercial AV projects at ISE 2015. Certified to work with Pakedge routers, switches and GBICs, the new cables are claimed to optimise performance in networks by providing an improved AV experience for the end-user.

Pakedge-Compatible Fibre Optic Cables are supplied in multiple lengths up to 400m to provide a choice of flexible installation options. Custom-length cables are also available.

Pakedge claims the release of the fibre-optic cables would afford dealers the peace of mind of knowing that their cables were specially designed to be compatible with their network. The new cables also offer convenience, said the company, allowing integrators to turn to Pakedge as a one-stop shop to save time and thereby maximise the profitability of their installation jobs.

Nick Phillips, vice president of sales at Pakedge, said: “The latest release is another step towards a seamless installation experience.”

The company also extols the benefits of fibre-optic cables over their copper Ethernet equivalents, including less electromagnetic interference, greater speed capabilities at up to 10 Gbps, greater bandwidth, greater durability, less signal degradation, elimination of heat dissipation, and less transmission power requirements.
