Three new products are on show on the Opticis ISE 2016 stand. Among them is the DPAX DisplayPort 1.2 Data Recovery Repeater. It supports UHD resolution (up to 3840 x 2160) at 60Hz uncompressed and unscaled, optimising image quality, and transmits DisplayPort data up to 8m over copper cable. With a total data rate of 21.6Gbps (5.4Gbps pelane).
HDCP is supported, and the device can be operated via USB power or a DC power adaptor. With measurements of only 39.5mm x 50mm x 13mm, it is designed to b e compact enough to be appropriate for almost any installation, Opticis says. Typical applications include control rooms, simulators, medical displays and digital signage.
Also new is the DPFX-200-TR optical DisplayPort extender. Like the DPAX, it is highly compact. The transmitter/receiver set enables the transmission of WQUXGA (3840 x 2160) resolution data at 60Hz up to 100m over two LC multi-mode fibres. Also, like the DPAX it does not use scaling or compression. It is, says Opticis, plug and play and supports multi-stream transport. Target applications are similar to those for the DPAX unit.
Opticis is also showcasing its new active optical DVI cable, the DVFC-100. Again, scaling and compression are not used, and transmission of
WUXGA or 1080p resolution data is possible over 100m.
