More than just projectors

From the company’s roots as a pure play projector developer (originally known as Electrohome), Christie has been reinventing itself, and the results are on show at ISE. The company’s stand now features numerous large format displays – including the newlylaunched Velvet Apex Series of 0.9mm pitch LED screens.

Perhaps more importantly, Christie has brought its Terra line-up of products to ISE for the first time.

Terra comprises an expanding series of transmitters, receivers, control hardware and software that enables the design and integration of Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE)-compliant systems (Christie was a founder member of the SDVoE Alliance) in what the company describes as a simple, flexible, highly-scalable and affordable package

With Terra, Christie offers a complete native 4K, 4:4:4 content delivery, from player to display.

“We’re moving ourselves into a position where we can provide a complete, 60Hz 4K end-to-end pipeline,” said David Griffiths, director of market development EMEA, Christie, “Our goal is to achieve leadership in that space. It’s not enough to be just a projector or display supplier – you need to be able to deliver the complete workflow solution.”
