Make a date with these Monday events

Three conferences, plus the Opening Address and the Opening Reception, are taking place on Monday – ahead of ISE’s opening on Tuesday

The Smart Building Conference is a long-established part of the Monday programme during ISE week. Held this year at the Hotel Okura, it is ISE attendees’ opportunity to discover the important building industry trends that affect the technologies inside buildings. The conference theme is ‘5G, IoT and the Intelligent Edge’ – three technologies that collectively facilitate the deployment of all kinds of smart functionality within buildings. The conference starts at 08:45 and runs until 17:30.

SBC attendees can also purchase discounted tickets for the Smart Workplace Track, which takes place on Tuesday morning.

Also at the Okura, CEDIA is hosting a Cybersecurity Workshop, led by Jeff Sonnleitner, a professional network and security instructor with over 35 years’ experience. Suitable for both residential and commercial integrators, as well as manufacturers looking to create security policies for their products, the workshop will mix seminars and demonstrations with immersive and collaborative sessions.

The third Monday conference is AudioForum @ ISE, run by media partner Connessioni. Held in Room G103 at the RAI between 09:30 and 16:30, its theme is ‘Sound Democracy’ – that is, a focus on the person and their wellbeing in the listening environment. By transforming the use of sound into a complete, personalised and gratifying listening experience, we can communicate effectively with others and with the world around us.

At 18:00, everyone is welcome at attend the ISE 2020 Opening Address, held at the RAI Forum. (Shuttle buses will leave the Okura at the end of the Smart Building Conference to bring attendees here.) Duncan Wardle, the former Head of Innovation and Creativity at Disney, will talk about how to unlock the inherent creativity in all of us in a presentation entitled ‘Think Different’.

After the Opening Address, at around 19:00, the ISE 2020 Opening Reception takes place in the RAI Forum Lounge. It’s the ideal location to meet up with colleagues and catch up with industry friends – and make your plans for the coming four days – over complimentary drinks and snacks.
