LED is the future for Lang

Many in the industry believe that 2016 is when LED technology could start to displace LCD technology in many applications, now that it is achieving significantly finer pixel pitches. Exhibitor Lang is certainly focusing on the new opportunity under the banner ‘Lang LED Worlds’.

The company says that it is increasingly being asked by its resellers – often confused by the rapidly growing array of potential suppliers, and the difficulty of differentiating one product/supplier from another based on provided specifications – for advice about LED technology. The company claims that it is uniquely placed to respond to such requests, as it has relationships with a number of LED manufacturers and can influence the products that are designed and produced as well as request modifications where standard products are unsuitable for a specific application.

Lang is reinforcing its position with an eye-catching display on its ISE stand which features an 8K x 4K LED wall, using 1.22mm pixel pitch panels. The wall is 9.6m wide by 5.4m high. Play out is via Lang’s own HMS-1 media server, which is being unveiled at ISE. The HMS-1 provides eight synchronised DisplayPort 1.2 outputs with DP++ support and a maximum supported resolution of 8 x 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 60p. It features disk storage space of 3 Terabytes in a redundant RAID-5 array and is capable of throughput of 3.5GB/sec. The HMS-1 features four 3G SDI inputs to be synched to QFHD 60p as live input.

The content being shown was recorded using a Lang three camera array.
