ISE 2017: Sharp to launch new display solutions

At its first ISE since going into partnership with Foxconn, Sharp has announced it will introduce a number of new display products including a new 80in Big Pad (pictured) and a 70in videowall display at the show.

The latest addition to the Big Pad range of interactive displays features ‘optical bonding’ for a better viewing experience, and more precise touch for presentations and teamwork. Other interactive displays include a new 40in model for huddle spaces designed to help people share ideas during small informal meetings.

Sharp will exhibit a total of six new product ranges, foremost is a 70in display for videowalls, which is 10in larger than its current largest videowall display and 15in larger than the mainstream industry standard. Aimed at luxury retailers who want to create maximum impact, a wall of four displays in a 4 x1 portrait configuration will welcome visitors to Sharp’s stand.

Sid Stanley, general manager, Visual Solutions, Sharp Europe said: “Our stand at ISE shows a significant step forward and sends a clear message – come and do business with Sharp.

“We are growing, we are innovating and as our partners already know, we are great to do business with. We have completed an impressive upgrade of our product line-up and we have a strong portfolio that meets customer needs; it’s an exciting indication of things to come during 2017, and powerfully shows the benefits of our relationship with Foxconn.”

Other stand highlights include the launch of Sharp’s Mini OPS standard (Open Pluggable Specification) for its display screens. Three different expansion modules, based on Mini-OPS, easily and cost-effectively expand the function of the displays and give users more flexibility for signage and interaction.
