Infinity simplifies making a connection

To help simplify how users participate in video meetings, Pexip has introduced Infinity Connect, which enables users without a UC client or access to videoconferencing to simply connect to a Pexip Infinity Virtual Meeting Room using the Infinity Connect installable client on their Windows, OS X or Linux PC, or web browser of choice.

Users could already connect via a WebRTC-enabled browser, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Opera, but now they can use non-WebRTC browsers including Internet Explorer and Apple Safari. Infinity enables meeting organisers to simply send a link to participants in order to connect and collaborate using existing infrastructure, and simplifies collaboration through data and presentation sharing in familiar environments with standard tools.

The new Infinity Connect suite also delivers core features like roster list, conference controls, add/disconnect participants, and more.

“In addition to voice, video, and content-sharing interoperability with Microsoft Lync, WebRTC, H.323, and SIP endpoints, our new software clients extend the reach of visual communications to users without access to videoconferencing endpoints,” claimed Håkon Dahle, Pexip’s CTO.
