Green German amplifiers with growing DSP library

Energy-efficient amplifiers are being showcased, together with ProAudio Technology speakers, in Hall 7 by Hoellstern, and in a special demo for the show by Amsterdam-based distributor Auvilight Rental Concept.

The range includes both 2-channel and 4-channel amplifiers, with output power ranging from 850W to 16,000W (bridged). The amplifiers are housed in a 19in, 2RU casing, with weight ranging from 10kg to 12kg.

Hoellstern claims its sophisticated iCVP technology offers highly efficient power supply and amplifier technology, which can half power consumption with 10A or 16A of average current draw. This enables ‘enormous’ output power values, claims the German manufacturer.

The amplifiers are designed and manufactured in the south of Germany.

The internal Hoellstern DSP controller is an independent DSP platform which offers an innovative, comprehensive solution for most loudspeaker systems in the pro sound industry. Currently this features more than 25 loudspeaker manufacturers with more than 430 loudspeaker blocks.

The DSP library offers FIR filter and system-specific settings, as well as free user settings.

The library keeps growing, based on user requirements. An up-to-date table of the available setups, sorted by manufacturers, can be found on the company website.

Also available is the company’s Konfigurator2, a software package for the configuration and management of amplifiers with built-in DSP. Konfigurator2 can be run under Windows and Mac OS and communicates with upgradeable Konfigurator2 firmware on the amps.

The ProAudio kit on show with the Hoellstern amps includes the VT20 Vertical-Array, the HT16 Tourist system, the M20 Monitorset, and the M10 Monitorset.
