Garvan launches flushmount subwoofers

WIR, the new line of in-wall, flushmounting subwoofers, is being launched at ISE 2017 by Italian manufacturer Garvan Acoustic. They were previewed in prototype form at last year’s show, where the company says they were positively received.

Thanks to the brand new 6.3in drivers and the G-Bass transmission line, the speakers are said to offer excellent performance even with limited dimensions for installation, while the aesthetic impact is reduced. Optimised for depth (they are only 12cm deep), the WIR subwoofers are compatible both with plasterboard and brick walls. They can also be installed also in false ceilings.

There are, says the company, multiple possibilities for customisation of the speakers’ aesthetics.

The design of the Garvan WIR subwoofer has been conceived as ‘modular’ – from the single WIR116 with 150W RMS power, to the double WIR216 (300W RMS) up to the quad WIR416 (600W RMS). This means, says the company, that the architecture of the sound system of the selected space can be designed with numerous options: either choosing a single powerful subwoofer, or installing various subwoofers for an equivalent total power, arranging them radially in the listening area.

Stand: 1-Q115
