The Calibre LEDView720 and LEDView730 4K scalers, currently on show at ISE 2017, have been used to upgrade the media presentation rooms and main stadium LED displays at FC Porto’s Dragão Stadium.
The LEDView700 series includes Calibre’s fast and accurate screen set-up interface with edge-based image sizing and positioning. The LEDView720 includes the same 4K connec-tivity and image scaling as the more powerful LEDView730 model, but the latter adds 3G-SDI and genlock capability for staging and broadcast cameras.
The Audiovisual Company (TAC) in Portugal carried out the installation at the Dragão Stadium, an ecological building that concentrates on its environmental certification.
Home to FC Porto, it is one of only a few stadiums to be rated five stars by union of european football association.
Eduardo Costa, general technical manager, TAC, said: “We use Calibre to adapt input resolution to the main stadium LED screens during live games or for digital signage at corporate events. The scalers can switch input channels in under a quarter of a second and have multiple outputs for local monitoring of live output feeds.”
“The project was completed with 100% effectiveness,” Costa continued. “The displays are enjoyed by the visiting public and club fans alike. Because the scalers are 4K compatible, they are a future-proof tool for our client.”
