Don’t bin it, flex it: Google says upgrading devices to ChromeOS Flex is more sustainable

Google will be demonstrating how ChromeOS Flex can help reduce total cost of ownership and drive the sustainability of computing devices.

At ISE, the company will be offering to convert PCs, Macs and tablets with ChromeOS Flex to give the devices a second life.

By doing so, it says users can reduce IT overhead, time to deploy and maintenance costs, reduce energy consumption by up to 19% on ChromeOS devices, bring modern computing to legacy devices and increase their lifespan.

According to Google, upgrading devices to the cloud-based ChromeOS Flex, rather than replacing them altogether, is an impactful way to reduce waste.
