European growth sealed in partnerships

The trade association representing the commercial audiovisual industry worldwide, InfoComm International, has announced several partnerships here at ISE 2016 that will boost the business in its quest to increase its European presence.

InfoComm is partnering with distributor and manufacturer of communication technologies Comm-Tec, AV and IT distributor Leteng, designer of computer and AV connectivity products Lindy, and AV distributor TD Maverick.

Through its partnership with InfoComm, Germany-based Comm-Tec will incorporate InfoComm training courses into its Comm-Tec Academy. This will include prep courses for the InfoComm-Recognised AV Technologist Test (RAVT). After they have completed the Comm-Tec Academy programme, students will have the opportunity to take the RAVT, which will be administered by InfoComm at Comm-Tec headquarters in Uhingen, Germany.

“This educational partnership with InfoComm will be a huge benefit to the AV industry in Germany,” said Carsten Steinecker, managing director, Comm-Tec.

Norway-based Leteng has developed a programme of pro-AV training courses that will incorporate InfoComm’s Essentials of AV curriculum, a prep course for the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exam and testing for the RAVT certificate. Leteng AS has scheduled 23 training courses in 2016.

“Competence is a key factor for success. To prove your competence in the AV industry, you need to be certified,” said Øyvind Jacobsen, marketing manager, Leteng AS. “That’s why we partnered with InfoComm for our training programme. They set the standards and best practices for our industry.”

Meanwhile, Lindy is developing four educational webinars in 2016 in four languages: German, Italian, French and English.

Finally, TD Maverick has bought 40 InfoComm memberships to award to those customers that it feels will benefit from InfoComm’s training and accreditation. The one-year memberships will give companies access to education, training, certification, industry standards, events and more.

InfoComm is experiencing significant membership growth in Europe at 17% year over year.
