Draco KVM extenders ascend to 4K

New Draco vario Dual Link DVI and DisplayPort KVM extenders for 4K video have been launched by IHSE. They support the transmission of video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 30Hz or 2560 x 2048 at 60Hz over a single CatX or fibre cable and include high-spec digital audio, RS-232 and USB-HID extension for interactive applications.

The extenders can be used in pairs to extend signal transmission to 140m with CatX cable or 10km with fibre. They are compatible with all Draco tera KVM matrix switches, allowing integrators to build extremely flexible video and data distribution networks with any number of connections up to 576 ports.

“With the anticipated arrival of 4K displays in the professional AV market, these new extenders meet the need for robust, reliable signal extension at the highest level of audio and image quality. Their ability to interface with remote displays, user terminals and workstations incorporating USB-HID devices make them ideal for touchscreen, facial recognition, card-reading and gesture-controlled installations, no matter how far the display is located from the source and with no off-putting user delay,” said IHSE managing director Enno Littmann.
