The size of the corporate and education projector market in EMEA is expected to reach €4,400 million in the next five years with 50% of the sales coming from the replacement of existing installations.
DLP has a long history of projection innovations starting with the first mainstream projector in 1996. Today, DLP is the number one projection display technology and recognised worldwide for its reliability, brightness and low cost of ownership.
However, one area DLP has not been able to dominate is the replacement market for projectors installed in meeting rooms and classrooms. The main reason for this is that customers look for replacement models that fit the existing ceiling mounts and match the screen size. So far, DLP projectors with a throw ratio of 1.8 to 2.1 were unable to match the average 1.4 and 1.8 throw ratio of LCD projectors.
ViewSonic is launching a new range of DLP projectors, LightStream, which will provide a solution for this issue, matching the throw ratio of LCD projectors. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities for users, resellers and system integrators.
LightStream projectors also provide a brilliant new solution for meeting rooms, classrooms and home use, featuring a stylish design as well as exclusive new features including SuperColor and SonicSound for enhanced viewing and listening, a new cable management hood and a patented HDMI/MHL connection compartment allowing users to connect a variety of dongles and stream content wirelessly.
As a result we are looking to achieve significant growth in the coming year and aiming to disrupt the replacement market with our new range of DLP projectors which have been designed specifically to target the replacement of traditional LCD projectors.
