Displays become works of art

The new ArtScreen powered by QMotion is said to be the world’s first battery-powered media concealment product and is being launched by Vutec. The showcase solution is designed to transform any flatpanel display into a work of art without the time-consuming and costly task of running power lines. Available for flatpanels from 42in to 103in, the ArtScreen can be made with custom photography, commissioned artwork or from Vutec’s licensed art library to conceal any display and match any decor.

The addition of QMotion into the ArtScreen line extends media concealment to a range of industries that require pleasing decor without re-wiring, Vutec says. The included infrared control system allows the artwork to ascend or descend via a remote control. When the screen or flatpanel display is not in use, the digital art on a canvas image is displayed within the frame; when the artwork is retracted, the flatpanel display is visible for viewing.

“The ArtScreen powered by QMotion allows almost anything to be concealed – not just screens, but control panels, safes – even wine,” said Melba Proctor, director of international sales for Vutec. “The fact that it’s battery operated – it can use any standard alkaline batteries, which gives each screen a power cycle life of several years – means that retrofitting to an existing installation is much easier, as you don’t have the expense and inconvenience of running a power supply to it.”
