Digital signage tames Xtreme weather

The new Xtreme fully sealed outdoor display is proving its ability to function in occasionally severe conditions at the RAI, where a Triple Outdoor Menu Board configuration is positioned outside, at the Holland entrance by Hall 11. The display is packed with features to overcome outdoor digital signage challenges.

Peerless-AV claims it is simple to install, easy to operate, and ideal for a wide range of outdoor applications, from QSR drive thru digital menus to corporate messaging and advertising for retail, entertainment and transportation settings. The fully sealed design goes far beyond waterproof, with Xtreme outdoor displays earning an IP68 rating, the highest in the industry.

This means it is able to withstand pressurised washing from any angle, and is the only outdoor display that could be completely submerged in water beyond 1m depth for eight hours and still continue to operate reliably.

Its patented Ventless Dynamic Thermal Transfer system combines internal air circulation with a thermal transfer heat sink to maintain the optimal operating temperature, giving it the industry’s broadest operating range of 60° to -40ºC.

The display has no vents, filters or exhaust fans, so that there is complete protection against the ingress of dust, dirt or microscopic particles. Its seamless design, with rounded corners, is also effective at preventing ice formation, as it provides no opportunity for water to collect, freeze and compromise the panel’s outer body.
