Advanced media server company 7thSense Design launched a wide range of new system and hardware features at ISE 2018, including VR integration. The company demonstrated Delta Media Server’s capabilities in addition to media playback and management.
Visitors to the 7thSense stand experienced hands-on demonstrations of Delta Media Server, including its integration with a number of industry VR headsets such as StarVR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. This feature can be used for display system pre-visualisation and analysis, and can also be used for multi-user VR experiences and attractions.
There is also a disk technology option for up to 50% more disk performance from a single server, a new GUI for distributing files around a set of Delta Servers – giving users full control and management over multiple servers from a single server location – and a sneak peak of the next-generation DeltaGUI.
With DeltaGUI, the Delta Servers management interface enables direct access to a detailed configuration of all servers and handles warping and blending of all display channels, compositing multiple sources, display configuration and management, spline editing, mesh editing and dome projector layout design.
John Higgins, product manager at 7thSense, said: “Delta Media Server is renowned for delivering the highest performance, pixel-perfect uncompressed playback. Our new features and on-stand demonstrations highlight its strengths as a flexible, configurable media management and playback engine that handles all pixel and audio processing to guarantee the best display performance, no matter what shape or size surface it might be.”
