D.A.S. Audio monitor and sub in dual launch

ISE 2015 is to witness the introduction of a twin 21in subwoofer system and a double-10in three-way stage monitor.

D.A.S. Audio says the UX-221 subwoofer has been introduced in response to demands for a high-output ultra-low frequency solution. It is comprised of two 21in loudspeakers equipped with 4.5in voice coils and offers a power handling capacity of 6800W RMS.

It also features 60mm peak-to-peak excursion, a powerful neodymium magnet assembly and double silicone spider with optimised compliance, which provides for commanding low-frequency response, claims the Spanish manufacturer. The UX-221 offers a frequency range of 25Hz to 100Hz, yielding a maximum peak SPL of 145dB.

The enclosure is constructed using 21mm Birch plywood and makes use of extensive bracing to eliminate resonances. The woodwork is finished with the robust D.A.S. ISO-flex protective coating for durability. A dolly platform with locking casters is available to stack and move the systems. Protection during transport is provided by the optional covers available from D.A.S.

Also launching is the Event M210A, a three-way stage monitor in a double 10in dual-band configuration. The dual-band configuration permits the twin 10in loudspeakers to work in tandem for maximum power at low frequencies. The D.A.S. loudspeaker units have been teamed up with a single M-60 compression driver attached to a new asymmetric waveguide. The purpose-designed unit offers a 20° up to 30º down vertical coverage for precise pattern control in the artist´s listening area.

The Event M210A wedge is powered by an advanced three-channel Class D amplifier that provides 360W peak per channel. The amp´s rear panel includes quality Neutrik XLR and powerCON connectors as well as status LEDs to facilitate setup.
