Fortress: Customers prefer unique to off-the-shelf

According to home theatre furniture company Fortress, it is becoming increasingly evident that when it comes to designing home theatres or media rooms, home theatre enthusiasts are seeking more unique options rather than settling for ‘off-the-shelf’ products.

The Kensington home theatre chair was a collaborative effort between a homeowner, his designer and Fortress. The challenge, according to the company, was to develop a home theatre chair that echoed tones of the home owner’s Ferrari along with the necessary features and functionality of a theatre chair. The open arms lighten the scale of the chair, says Fortress, and the channelled back is said to add a unique look and fantastic comfort.

Fortress is one of the few companies in the industry that manufactures its own chairs. Working with a manufacturer like Fortress, the company claims, gives the client and the integrator the flexibility to customise the seating any way they like; whether it’s following a particular curve in the room, creating a custom design, or incorporating some of Fortress’s accessories.

Featured at ISE 2015, the Odéon is one of several new designs by Sheba Kwan for exclusive production by Fortress.

The Odéon is D-Box ready and features powered lumbar support. As with all Fortress products, custom sizes are available.
